Oh-Em-Gee! I just finished this book seconds ago and I couldn’t wait another minute to start writing a blog post about it.
If you follow my blog, or read it regularly, you know that I’m a sucker for a great thriller novel. One of my favourite thriller writers is Lisa Gardner so when I heard she had recently published a new book, I immediately got on my library’s waitlist (and it was a longggggg waitlist). But let me reassure you that the wait was absolutely worth it!
There were so many crazy twists and turns throughout Crash & Burn that I often found myself gasping and trying to steady my heartbeat. I don’t want to give too much away, so I’ll just give you guys the gist of how the novel starts:
A woman crashes her car in the middle of the night and is found bloody, covered in mud and screaming for someone named Vero. The police automatically start on a search for Vero, who they identify as the woman’s daughter. When the woman’s husband turns up at the hospital, not only does she have a hard time remembering exactly who he is, but he has to convince her that Vero is not real and that after 22 years of marriage, they have no children. What happens from that point forward is — in a single word — INSANE!!!!!
If you’re into thrillers, or you’re looking for a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat, this is it! As Stephon would say, “This book has everything … !”
Happy reading! 🙂
